カントリーディレクター/ Country Director

An international specialty metal manufacturer is looking for a Country Director. The chosen applicant will lead strategic growth and market expansion across Japan, focusing on building senior-level relationships with key manufacturing customers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to increase revenue and market share across Japan
• Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key stakeholders within Japanese manufacturing organisations, including procurement, supply chain, engineering, and executive leadership teams
• Leverage existing and new relationships with manufacturers utilising high-performance alloys, stainless steels, and titanium products
• Represent the company as a trusted partner, aligning customer needs with advanced materials and technical capabilities
• Identify and pursue growth opportunities across aerospace, defense, space, medical, power generation, transportation, and consumer markets
• Collaborate with commercial, operations, technical, and supply chain teams to deliver integrated customer solutions
• Analyse market, customer, and financial data to support strategic decision-making and risk management
• Partner with Market Leads on contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and long-term commercial agreements
• Achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets through effective execution and customer relationship management
• Ensure compliance with commercial processes, governance requirements, and company standards

Requirements:

• Extensive experience working at a senior level with Japanese manufacturing companies, particularly in continuous or process manufacturing environments
• Proven success working within a U.S.-based global organisation, with the ability to effectively bridge Japanese and Western business cultures
• Deep understanding of Nickel Alloys, Stainless Steels, and Titanium, and their applications in advanced manufacturing markets
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex data while maintaining a clear, long-term strategic perspective
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Fluent written and verbal Japanese and English

Preferred Requirements:

• Strong existing network and executive-level contacts within Japanese manufacturing and supply chain organisations
• Background in metal manufacturing or continuous manufacturing
