フィールドプロジェクトエンジニア/ Field Project Engineer

Save job

A company in the aquaculture industry is seeking a Field Project Engineer. The chosen candidate will be executing and controlling construction works in line with design requirements, ensuring safe, buildable, and accurate field execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand, and apply IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, RFIs, and approved revisions before work starts
  • Verify contractors are working from the latest approved drawings and that field conditions match design intent, dimensions, interfaces, and constructability requirements
  • Identify clashes, missing information, access constraints, material gaps, and sequencing risks early; propose practical solutions with safety, schedule, and cost impacts clearly stated
  • Maintain field redlines, as-built inputs, technical query logs, and action trackers to ensure site decisions remain traceable
  • Walk active work fronts daily with supervisors and contractors to confirm progress, readiness, manpower, equipment, materials, permits, and inspection requirements
  • Coordinate interfaces between civil/building, electrical, mechanical, utilities, process/aquaculture systems, and temporary works to prevent rework and delays
  • Support work packaging, short-interval planning, and 2-3 week look-ahead planning to surface constraints before they impact production
  • Ensure problems are not simply escalated upward by defining the issue, root cause, options, recommendation, owner, and decision timeline
  • Support inspections, hold points, punch-list closure, and NCR resolution by checking work against drawings, specifications, and ITP requirements
  • Promote safe construction methods and escalate unsafe conditions, design risks, access issues, or quality failures immediately
  • Prepare concise daily construction reports in English covering progress, quantities, photos, constraints, decisions required, actions, and risks to milestones
  • Issue weekly engineering/work-front summaries covering progress vs plan, open RFIs, NCRs, punch items, constraints, and recovery actions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent construction-related technical qualification
  • More than 10 years of professional experience on large industrial construction projects as part of owner, EPC, main contractor or specialist contractor teams
  • More than 5 years of recent hands-on field engineering or construction execution experience on active construction sites
  • Experience preparing clear daily/weekly site reports, RFI responses, action trackers and progress evidence in English
  • Proficient in MS Office; competent with CAD/PDF markup tools and project document-control platforms
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, work packaging, ITPs, RFIs, NCRs, punch-list management and site documentation
  • Proven ability to read construction drawings, understand real site sequence, coordinate contractors and close technical issues without excessive escalation
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, method statements, schedules, quantities, redlines and as-built information
  • Proficient in English (CEFR B2 or equivalent)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Japan project experience or experience working with Japanese contractors and local authorities
  • Water treatment, aquaculture, food-grade, process plant, utilities or industrial facility experience
  • Experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, Aconex, BIM/3D models, Bluebeam, AutoCAD or similar tools
  • Construction management, project management or site engineering qualification
  • Training in quality management, planning, cost control or contract administration
  • Proficient in Japanese
