デザインマネージャー/ Design Manager

A renowned IT company is looking for a Design Manager. The chosen applicant will lead the construction, design, and delivery of new data centre developments, major refurbishment, and expansion projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the overall construction and project delivery of new data centre developments, major renovations, and expansion projects across Japan
• Evaluate potential sites for data centre development during land acquisition, including technical feasibility from architectural, mechanical, and electrical engineering perspectives
• Assess the availability and capacity of infrastructure such as power, telecommunications, water supply, and drainage
• Conduct comprehensive technical due diligence covering all relevant aspects
• Support tenant onboarding by assessing the technical feasibility of integrating cooling systems, power demand requirements, and mechanical/electrical infrastructure
• Collaborate closely with Construction Managers and cross-functional teams in a Design Management capacity to achieve the best project outcomes
• Act as the primary point of contact and client representative for internal stakeholders, external consultants, contractors, and vendors

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Experience in building facility design from an electrical or mechanical engineering design perspective, gained within an architectural design firm or the design division of a general contractor
• Extensive experience in site due diligence, design development, and management of technical stakeholders
• Design experience in mission-critical facilities
• Strong customer-oriented mindset toward both internal and external stakeholders
• Native level Japanese

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in the design and supervision of mission-critical facility projects
• Experience managing contractors.
• Data centre project experience
• Strong technical project management capabilities
