A global materials company is looking for an Account Manager – Personal Care. The selected candidate will drive sales and marketing activities, develop new business opportunities, manage customer and distributor relationships, and support product growth within the Personal Care market.

Responsibilities:

  • Align with the Personal Care business growth strategy and execute regional strategies and marketing plans to achieve profitable and sustainable business results
  • Identify and develop incremental business growth opportunities in Japan
  • Discover local market trends and customer needs to create market differentiation and drive innovation programmes with appropriate value propositions
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, ADE and R&D teams to identify market trends and address customer requirements
  • Develop Japanese brochures, market bulletins, product technical datasheets and website content in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Organise seminars, key customer workshops and local trade shows
  • Engage channel partners to drive business growth, increase product penetration and identify new opportunities through training and technical and commercial support
  • Ensure the successful launch of new products with appropriate value propositions across accounts and channels
  • Collect and analyse competitive market intelligence and formulate action plans
  • Research market opportunities to evaluate the desirability, viability and feasibility of new and existing products and identify market trends and challenges

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemical, Biochemical, Cosmetics or related disciplines
  • More than 2 years of experience in chemical raw materials in a commercial role
  • Experience in Personal Care formulation development or technical service
  • Proven track record in developing new business opportunities and managing channels for growth
  • Strong Personal Care market insight, marketing acumen, analytical skills, planning skills, budget management skills and understanding of organisational matrix structures
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Native level Japanese; basic level English

Preferred requirements:

  • Familiarity with beauty ingredients and the Personal Care market
  • Ability to develop customer and industry relationships based on trust
  • Strong customer and distributor management skills
