A global specialty chemicals company is seeking a Sales Manager. The selected candidate will oversee business performance, drive sales growth, manage distributors, and execute strategic plans aligned with global objectives. This is a remote setup role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full P&L responsibility for the Japan & Korea Colour Solutions business
  • Oversee distributor relationships to maximise sales efficiency
  • Cultivate and expand relationships within key accounts to drive revenue growth
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Production, and Customer Service to ensure technical support and supply-chain excellence
  • Conduct frequent travel within Japan and to Korea to engage new and existing accounts
  • Perform competitive analysis and translate insights into growth strategies
  • Lead customer trials and new-application projects from qualification to commercialisation
  • Monitor performance versus targets and provide accurate forecasts
  • Analyse market and customer data to inform product development decisions
  • Develop sales plans and inventory requirements by customer and channel
  • Drive demand forecasting accuracy within the monthly S&OP cycle
  • Define and execute account-specific strategies for global and strategic customers
  • Collaborate on annual budgeting and achieve finalised budget targets

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • More than 5 years of experience in pigments or specialty chemicals sales/business management in Japan or Korea
  • Experience in matrixed, global organisations is preferred
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership and proven record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Deep understanding of Japanese business culture and relationship management
  • Proficient in market research and financial modelling
  • Familiarity with distribution channels in B2B chemical markets preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Fluent level Japanese; business level English (Korean or Chinese is a plus)
