アプリケーション開発マネージャー/ Application Development Manager

A global chemical company is searching for an Application Development Manager. The chosen applicant will be acquiring and managing automotive development projects by promoting company solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively promote company solutions to customers and provide expertise and storyline that could lead to joint development projects and new business nominations
• Demonstrate understanding of differences between rubber and PUR materials in terms of part performance for company applications
• Review part design geometry based on simulation results, prototype evaluations, customer feedback, and production feasibility
• Manage all phases of the development process with internal engineers, from specification review to series production launch
• Take full responsibility for project timelines and milestones, including 3D design, simulation, sample manufacturing, testing, and customer approval (OTS, PPAP)
• Promote new recipes, ideas, and technologies to both customers and internal teams
• Collect and understand OEMs’ new design trends and concepts for chassis parts
• Ensure project management includes simulation, internal and customer evaluations, and readiness for production

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or vehicle dynamics
• More than 5 years of experience in automotive part design or project management at an Auto OEM or Tier 1 supplier
• Experience in part design or measurement for the automotive industry
• Familiarity with ISO/ TS 16949
• Background in design FMEA
• Knowledge of CAD software (Pro/E is preferred)
• Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)
• Familiarity with JPN OEMs development process is preferred
• Experience in engineering plastic applications in the automotive industry is a plus
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Native level Japanese; proficient in written and verbal English
