コーポレートカウンセル/ Corporate Counsel

An international entertainment company is looking for a Corporate Counsel. The selected candidate will support the legal department by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, advising business teams and partners on legal matters, and collaborating with global legal representatives on business and marketing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business divisions to review, draft, and negotiate contracts in Japanese and English with Japanese and Asian partners
• Support requests and enquiries from partners in Japan and Asia in collaboration with business units
• Provide legal support on matters including game content compliance with policies and game-related campaign implementation
• Review and verify marketing assets created for business activities
• Provide legal support related to products, services, and business operations
• Collaborate closely with the global legal team on business and legal matters
• Analyse and organise legal risks from a global perspective in line with business objectives
• Build trust and maintain effective communication with business teams and overseas legal representatives
• Identify issues through fact-finding and logically propose and implement solutions
• Take ownership of projects and proactively involve relevant stakeholders
• Share necessary information with the team and proactively advance projects

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience in legal affairs
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including English contracts
• Experience providing legal support related to products, services, and businesses
• Basic document creation skills using MS Office Suite
• Ability to understand business objectives and analyse and organise legal risks from a global perspective
• Business level Japanese (JLPT N1) and English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in the gaming, consumer electronics, IT, online services, or entertainment industries
• Experience studying or working abroad
• Experience promoting cross-functional projects in a global environment
• Possess a valid lawyer qualification in Japan or another country
