R&Dメカニカルエンジニア/ R&D Mechanical Engineer

An international technology company is looking for an R&D Mechanical Engineer. The selected candidate will design and develop new products, support mechanical engineering activities, perform simulations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions for automotive and industrial applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical components and products in accordance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements
• Develop jigs for testing and prototype assembly activities
• Manage engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Perform simulations, analyse results, and prepare detailed reports
• Collaborate with quality and purchasing teams to define supplier quality requirements and validate technical reports
• Support cost, quality, and project timeline objectives throughout product development
• Provide technical expertise and engineering support in mechanical design

Requirements:

• Master's degree or above in Mechanical and/or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• More than 2 years of experience as a design engineer in a low-cost components mixed mechanical/electronic environment
• Experience with CAD systems, preferably PTC Element CREO Direct
• Experience designing plastic injection and metallic parts for high-volume production
• Knowledge of project management practices including FMEA, design-to-cost, and quality methodologies
• Knowledge of material compliance standards including IMDS, JAMA, ROHS, UL, REACH, MSDSplus, and JAMP AIS
• Proficient in Japanese (JLPT N2+) and English

Preferred requirements:

• Knowledge of over-moulding processes and PCB design
• Knowledge of DRBFM methodology
• Knowledge of Automotive Quality System ISO TS 16949
• Knowledge of Japanese OEM/Tier 1 quality systems
• Experience in the automotive industry
• Magnetic knowledge
