ゼネラルマネージャー/ General Manager

A global automotive manufacturing company is looking for a General Manager for the Automotive Wiring Harness Business. The selected candidate will oversee Japan office operations, lead cross-border coordination with Thailand headquarters, manage customer relationships, support engineering activities, and drive business development initiatives within the automotive sector. This is a flexible hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage Japan office operations and supervise a team of approximately seven staff members
• Oversee administrative operations including payroll, office leasing, procurement, employee welfare, and regulatory compliance
• Ensure smooth business operations across the Japan office
• Act as the main liaison between Japanese customers and Thailand engineering teams
• Coordinate engineering design, development, and project activities related to automotive components and wiring harness systems
• Support product development activities from prototype stage through mass production
• Build and maintain relationships with Japanese OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers
• Serve as the key contact point for customer communications in Japan
• Support business expansion through collaboration with marketing and procurement teams in Thailand
• Identify business opportunities within existing customer accounts
• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives and value engineering proposals
• Support visiting executives and business teams from Thailand during Japan visits
• Collaborate closely with headquarters and affiliated companies across different regions
• Travel internationally between Japan, Thailand, and other locations as required
• Lead or support internal improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
• More than 15 years of experience in the automotive industry
• Experience in automotive parts manufacturing or OEM environments
• Engineering knowledge within the automotive industry
• Cost management and value engineering knowledge
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally
• Native level Japanese; business level English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in wiring harness design or development
• Strong relationships with Japanese automotive OEMs, motorcycle manufacturers, or suppliers
• Experience working with Thailand or Southeast Asia operations
• Leadership experience managing teams and cross-country operations
• Existing business network within the Japanese automotive sector
• Experience in cost reduction programmes, new product development, or supplier management
• Familiarity with global automotive standards and systems
