チーフアカウンタント/ Chief Accountant

An international pharmaceutical company is looking for a Chief Accountant. The selected candidate will oversee financial reporting, statutory compliance, internal controls, accounting operations, and financial advisory support while ensuring adherence to Group policies and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy of financial statements and identify key accounting risk areas, including impairment and liabilities
• Provide accounting judgement and support management on complex or unusual transactions
• Prepare monthly reporting packages for Group consolidation and local statutory financial statements
• Ensure compliance with Group policies, local accounting standards, and tax regulations, including tax filings
• Manage relationships with auditors and support audit processes
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls, including segregation of duties and risk management procedures
• Oversee ERP systems and accounting tools while supporting team development through training and process improvements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7-10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and tax
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
• Experience in statutory reporting, audits, and internal controls
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Experience working in an international environment and managing several entities
• Fluent level Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a multinational environment
• Experience with SOX or similar internal control frameworks
• Possess a valid CPA or equivalent certification
