A foreign media company is searching for an Adaptation Editor. The chosen applicant will be translating, editing, and adapting global content to ensure it resonates with local readers while preserving the original intent. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Translate and edit content while preserving the original intent of global articles
• Select articles for translation that resonate with local readers
• Adapt translated content to align with the publication’s writing style
• Perform content translation, editing, and related editorial tasks
• Coordinate rights clearance for translated content
• Manage article scheduling and publication timelines
• Collaborate with colleagues and relevant departments as needed
• Contribute to audience growth through high-quality localised content

Requirements:

• More than 3 years of experience in article translation and editing in fashion or related fields
• High-level translation and localisation skills from English to Japanese
• Understanding of digital article creation and management (SEO, etc.)
• Ability to understand diverse cultural contexts and appropriately reflect them in translation
• Familiarity with fashion and lifestyle trends is a plus
• Translation skills from languages other than English to Japanese is preferred
• Proficient in written and verbal Japanese and English
