A global banking and financial services company is looking for a Legal Counsel. The selected candidate will provide legal support and strategic advice to business units, balancing legal risk and business goals. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel to designated business units or functions
• Specialise in a specific legal practice area while supporting broader business objectives
• Advise on a range of legal matters with moderate complexity
• Conduct legal research and develop appropriate legal solutions
• Review business issues and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Partner with risk, audit, and compliance leaders to align legal strategies

Requirements:

• Advanced degree or above in legal or local country equivalent
• 3-7 years of experience as a qualified attorney is ideal
• Experience in corporate legal within the financial services industry
• Prior experience in assigned practice area (securities, employment, etc.) with an outside law firm is preferred
• Possess valid professional licence/certification by the local country or jurisdiction
• Professional level Japanese and English
