ハードウェアエンジニアリング部長/ Head of Hardware Engineering

A robotics and AI company is searching for a Head of Logistics Hardware Engineering. The selected applicant will be in charge of overseeing the entire development process, from conceptualisation to delivery. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire development of the logistics hardware system
• Direct and manage teams responsible for mechanical design, electrical design, and firmware design
• Ensure execution of committed plans through risk management
• Make key decisions and design optimal hardware architecture to meet business requirements
• Manage team personnel and control labour costs and development budgets
• Lead cost-reduction projects for products

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of practical experience in mechanical design
• Experience in the development and market deployment of hardware systems with multiple actuators (robotic manipulators)
• Comprehensive experience from conceptual design to mass production design
• Understanding of the following technical areas in actuator systems:
  • Basic motor control system design and pneumatic system design
  • Basics of sensor feedback control
  • Mechanical strength and durability design
  • Experience in designing for mass production and market introduction
  • Experience in design considering manufacturability (DFM)
  • Experience in designing to achieve cost optimisation
• Experience in hardware development for logistics or industrial robots with manipulators
• Hands-on experience in electrical design and firmware development
• Experience in hardware architecture design for robotic systems
• Proficient in Japanese and English
