Medical Director

A multinational pharmaceutical company is hiring a Medical Director/Associate Director in MPD Clinical Science. The selected candidate will provide clinical and medical oversight for assigned marketed products, lead cross-functional R&D initiatives, and drive lifecycle management strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Lead medical and clinical scientific activities for assigned marketed products globally and in Japan
• Collaborate with R&D function leads and commercial teams to align on strategic objectives
• Provide oversight and leadership for clinical study design, execution, and interpretation
• Manage partnerships with strategic vendors, ensuring high-quality medical and clinical deliverables
• Represent the company in regulatory interactions and develop key submission documents
• Lead clinical due diligence evaluations for potential alliances and in-licensing opportunities
• Mentor junior staff and provide leadership within the MPD Clinical Science team
• Partner with global and local stakeholders, including Medical Affairs, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply
• Build external medical and clinical expert relationships to support R&D goals

Requirements:

• MD or internationally recognised equivalent
• 3–6 years of clinical research experience in pharma, CRO, consulting, academia, or clinical practice
• Proven experience leading scientific and business aspects of drug development
• Working experience in global teams is preferred
• Skilled in communication, negotiation, and strategic decision-making
• Knowledge of regional/global regulatory requirements and GCP/ICH
• Fluent level Japanese; business level English
