A global biopharmaceutical company is looking for an Associate Director, Public Affairs. The selected candidate will lead communications and advocacy strategy for cell therapy, covering media relations, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory milestones in Japan.

Responsibilities:

• Set communications and advocacy strategy aligned with global and local market input
• Identify and create thought leadership and awareness opportunities in cell therapy
• Design and implement CAR T-cell therapy programs and advocacy initiatives
• Communicate key data and regulatory milestones for transformative medicines
• Develop globally aligned communication materials, including messages, press releases, and digital content
• Build and maintain relationships with patient leaders, media, and community stakeholders
• Ensure two-way, compliant communication with patient communities
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for strategic alignment across stakeholders
• Manage media requests and coordinate interviews with opinion leaders
• Monitor the external environment to identify and manage issues proactively
• Navigate Japanese regulatory frameworks and manage internal approval processes
• Manage agency partners and associated budgets

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in communications, business or a science-related field
• More than 10 years of experience in healthcare communications
• Patient advocacy experience is preferable
• Skilled in media relations, internal communications, and regulatory-compliant messaging
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects
• Fluent level Japanese and English
