メッキプロセス開発エンジニア/ Plating Process Development Engineer

A global electronic interconnect manufacturer is looking for a Plating Process Development Engineer. The selected candidate will focus on research, development, and integration of new plating or coating technology into production processes.

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute experiments related to novel materials and manufacturing processes in electrochemical deposition

• Characterise deposited microstructures and coordinate internal and external analytical laboratory projects
• Execute laboratory projects
• Support the research, development and implementation of new materials and technologies
• Work with chemical and equipment suppliers to introduce new plating processes and analysis methods
• Integrate or transition novel plating technologies into our production processes and products
• Facilitate new plating technologies through product testing and production processes qualifications
• Maintain lab procedure documents, ensuring they meet all requirements for safety and environmental standards

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant Technical or Science-related fields; 5 years of laboratory experience in chemical or electroplating environments
• Ph.D. Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant Technical or Science-related fields; 2 years of laboratory experience in chemical or electroplating environments
• Experience in scanning electron microscope, x-ray diffraction, elemental, and chemical spectroscopic
• Ability to facilitate new plating technologies through product testing and production processes qualifications
• Training in Lean manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Statistical Process Control, and Six Sigma is preferred
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of analytical equipment is a plus
• Willingness to work in a chemical environment
• Proficient in Japanese and English
