サプライチェーンスペシャリスト/ Supply Chain Specialist

An energy company is searching for a Supply Chain Specialist. The chosen candidate will be managing supplier qualification, performance, and negotiations to ensure cost-effective procurement of direct materials. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct qualification, evaluation, and registration of new suppliers
• Monitor existing suppliers’ performance and drive continuous improvement
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms for direct materials
• Issue RFQs, analyse bids for cost, delivery, or technical fit, and coordinate stakeholder approval to issue POs
• Manage lead times, delivery milestones, and overall project cost control
• Coordinate delivery schedules, track production status, and ensure on-time shipment
• Arrange transportation and customs clearance while resolving irregular logistics issues with partners
• Ensure compliance with all external and internal regulations, embodying the company’s core values of safety and integrity

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of hands-on procurement experience, specifically in direct materials within the manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure sectors
• Experience in RFQ processes, quotation analysis, and purchase order (PO) issuance
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management, including commercial terms and procurement contracts
• Solid understanding of Japanese business customs and communication protocols
• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers
• Basic familiarity with electrical substation products is preferred, especially in a direct materials procurement context
• Business level Japanese and English (TOEIC 650+ is preferred)
