A foreign semiconductor manufacturer is searching for a Manager, Japan Payroll role. The chosen applicant will manage the delivery of payroll services, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the delivery of payroll services, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance
• Offer guidance and support for processing compensation, benefits, time and attendance
• Implement and maintain operational procedures to support efficient payroll processing and reconciliations
• Oversee all reconciliations related to compensation and equity, benefits, time and attendance
• Manage outsourced vendor relationships
• Collaborate with Centres of Excellence (COEs) and regional business partners to implement global programs within the region
• Ensure operations and deliverables align with or surpass organisational goals
• Lead the management, development, communication, and continuous improvement of payroll operations processes
• Use metrics to drive performance, identify trends, and facilitate process improvements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, finance, human resource management, or engineering
• More than 5 years of payroll management experience
• Proven experience in payroll operations or service centre roles
• In-depth understanding of payroll process controls, compliance, and regulations
• Knowledge of SAP or Workday HCM is advantageous
• Familiarity with contact centre applications, particularly case management, is a plus
• Fluent level Japanese; business level English
