アプリケーションエンジニア/ Application Engineer

An international automotive parts manufacturer is looking for an Application Engineer. The selected candidate will work on powertrain efficiency systems, leading design, testing, and development efforts to reduce emissions and improve fuel economy.

Responsibilities:

• Interface directly with customers in Japan
• Define and document product features based on customer and system requirements
• Negotiate technical requirements and specifications with OEM customers
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work from design initiation to production and follow-up support
• Lead technical project management to ensure flawless program launches and meet customer needs
• Collaborate with the design department to create product designs per vehicle packaging requirements
• Coordinate technical reviews and submission of deliverables like 3D data and component drawings
• Oversee all activities related to the development and delivery of prototype products
• Support the global cross-functional team with product development and APQP disciplines to meet deadlines
• Identify new customer opportunities for continued business growth

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• More than 3 years of related automotive technical experience, with a preference for engine cooling systems or exhaust gas recirculation systems
• Practical experience in the development and launch of integrated electronic and mechanical devices
• Hands on experience with simulation (FEA and CFD) analysis and interpretation
• Proven experience in product design or application engineering
• Prior fluid or thermal dynamics experience preferred
• Experience with electronic actuators, sensors, DC motors is a plus
• Proficiency with DFMEA & PFMEA tools
• Skilled in systematic approaches (8D, Six-Sigma, Shainin, etc.)
• Strong understanding of product design concepts and processes
• Knowledge of drafting principal standards, including GD&T
• Ability and willingness to travel overseas
• Fluent level Japanese and English (TOEIC 650+)
