A global investment management company is looking to hire a Head of Compliance for its Japan operations. The successful candidate will advise the business on all relevant aspects of compliance, ensure proper monitoring, and maintain relationships with financial regulators.

Responsibilities:

• Advise senior management, business lines, and staff on all aspects of compliance
• Participate in projects to provide compliance analysis and review of new business initiatives and developments
• Design, conduct, and oversee a monitoring program to assess whether business lines continue to meet all applicable rules and regulations
• Oversee and ensure that there is a solid AML/KYC program in place and oversee the AML/KYC process for the onboarding of new clients
• Manage and maintain a long-term relationship with the Financial Services Agency (FSA)
• Manage local compliance teams in Japan

Requirements:

• 10+ years’ compliance experience, primarily in a Japanese investment management environment
• Experience working in the Japan office of multinational company is a plus
• Strong knowledge of FSA regulations that apply to investment management businesses
• Professional qualification preferred
• Fluency in both English and Japanese
