ゼネラルマネージャー/ General Manager

A renowned financial services company is looking for a General Manager. The selected candidate will manage day-to-day operations, provide strategic guidance, and lead a small team to drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Japan Branch as General Manager and Resident Director
• Manage and develop a team of 10-15 staff to support business goals
• Identify and deliver strategic and tactical initiatives while mitigating risks
• Oversee operational management and business continuity of the Japan Branch
• Build governance frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with local and global standards
• Manage compliance, finance, sales, and customer service functions within a matrix structure
• Report to the Group Executive team and Board, presenting key updates
• Liaise with financial regulators, tax authorities, distributors, and external partners
• Ensure accurate regulatory and tax submissions and oversee inter-company service agreements

Requirements:

• Practical financial services experience in Insurance, Investments, Securities, Banking, or Type II
• Prior work experience of Japanese insurance and investment products and service
• Leadership experience of developing people and delivering strategic and tactical initiatives
• People management experience of building successful and effective teams
• Operational management experience of running a financial services office/branch, including business disruption and continuity planning
• Policy administration experience of running an insurance/investment book of business
• Experience communicating with financial regulators, tax authorities, distributors, external consultants, and other third-party suppliers
• Prior experience developing and managing distribution relationships for financial products
• Experience of compliance and prevention of money laundering
• Proficient in written and verbal Japanese and English
