コンプライアンス担当官/ Compliance Officer

A global banking institution is seeking a Compliance Officer/Group Management Compliance professional. The selected candidate will manage compliance operations, monitor regulatory adherence, and support the Head of Compliance in ensuring robust corporate and market banking compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate branch compliance with applicable banking, securities laws, regulations, and internal guidelines
• Support the Head of Compliance Tokyo in assessing risks and enhancing the compliance control framework
• Prepare and execute compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks aligned with global standards
• Liaise with regulators and industry bodies and respond to information requests and reporting obligations
• Analyse business activities to assess compliance risks and test adherence to rules and mandates
• Provide compliance advisory services, update employees and management on regulatory changes, and support new business approvals
• Manage day-to-day compliance operations, including alert handling, data updates, and control sheets
• Lead assigned compliance projects and execute local or regional tasks as assigned
• Act as ‘Acting Head of Compliance’ in the absence of the Head of Compliance Tokyo for general compliance matters

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Banking, General Management, Law, or related field
• More than 5 years of experience in Compliance or a relevant field
• Experience in international banking compliance with an understanding of global requirements
• Familiarity with bank products and client portfolio management, with experience dealing with regulators
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Professional level Japanese; proficient in written and verbal English

Preferred requirements:

• Expertise in Financial Crime and/or Markets Compliance, including Corporate Banking Compliance
• Possess a valid Internal Controller Qualification under JSDA and/or FFAJ
• Knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and overseas frameworks (German or European)
• Proficient in German
