コンプライアンス担当官/ Compliance Officer

A global banking institution is looking for a Compliance Officer. The selected candidate will manage and mitigate compliance risks for the branch, oversee regulatory adherence, and support internal compliance operations and advisory functions. This is a contract role.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate branch compliance with banking and securities laws, regulations, and internal guidelines
• Support the Head of Compliance in assessing risks and enhancing compliance controls
• Implement and maintain local and global compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures
• Deliver compliance training and assess training needs for employees
• Liaise with regulators and industry self-regulatory bodies, responding to requests and reporting breaches
• Analyse business activities to assess compliance risks and provide management assurance
• Conduct risk control processes and prepare compliance reports for management
• Provide advisory services to employees and senior management on compliance issues
• Participate in approval processes for new business activities and implement compliance controls
• Process day-to-day compliance tasks, including alert handling and updating control sheets
• Manage compliance projects and support local or regional tasks as assigned
• Act as Acting Head of Compliance in the absence of the Head of Compliance Tokyo on general compliance matters

Requirements:

• Vocational training or above in Banking, General Management, or Law
• More than 5 years of experience in Compliance or a relevant field
• Significant compliance experience in an international banking environment with an understanding of global requirements
• Experience in dealing with regulators and maintaining industry/regulatory network
• Familiarity with bank products and client portfolio management
• Skilled in MS Office Suite
• Proficient in written and verbal English

Preferred requirements:

• Expertise in Financial Crime and or Markets Compliance (Corporate Banking Compliance)
• Understanding of overseas regulatory frameworks (especially German or European)
• Possess a valid Internal Controller Qualification under JSDA and/or FFAJ
• Proficient in German
