A global credit management solutions company is seeking a Legal & Compliance Officer. The selected candidate will ensure compliance with regulations by advising on ethical business conduct and managing compliance risks.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain necessary licences and permissions from regulators
- Advise on lawful, ethical business conduct that benefits customers, shareholders, and colleagues
- Prevent and detect violations by identifying and managing compliance risks
- Act as a liaison officer for regulatory bodies such as the Financial Services Agency and Legal Affairs Bureau
- Draft and review legal documents, policies, agreements, and contracts
- Monitor and assess compliance risks and initiate actions to address gaps
- Create and monitor compliance programs, ensuring standards are implemented
- Promote awareness of compliance matters among management and employees
- Manage business continuity, personal information, contracts, and procurement
- Support the subsidiary's legal and compliance matters, including board and shareholders' meetings
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above
- More than 8 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, or Controlling
- More than 5 years of experience in the insurance industry
- Understanding of the regulatory environment
- Business expertise in laws and regulations, local insolvency procedures
- Proficient in project management and analytical skills
- Fluent level written and verbal Japanese and English
