港湾サービスエンジニア/ Port Service Engineer

A global maritime services company is looking for a Port Service Engineer. The selected candidate will promote marine products and services, provide technical support onboard vessels, perform inspections and installations, maintain customer relationships, and support sales activities across ports and terminals.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously promote products and services to current and potential customers using campaigns and sales tools
• Initiate and maintain contact with ports, terminals, dry docks repair yards, and ship agents to identify opportunities and gather vessel information
• Communicate with vessel captains, superintendents, and senior crew members before or upon arrival to provide high-quality service
• Visit vessels upon request for specific services and assist vessel crews for port deliveries where applicable
• Visit vessels according to prioritised customer categories and sales potential
• Report vessel visit outcomes in the system and create relevant sales leads
• Promote solutions and carry out defined services, inspections, and installations based on agreed technical competencies
• Complete and issue relevant documentation after every onboard visit or service
• Ensure customers experience professional, valuable, and pleasant service interactions
• Obtain customer feedback regarding satisfaction and report complaints where necessary
• Report competitor activities in the port to the Area Port Service Engineer Manager
• Support customers and sales teams during vessel sales or purchases, including cylinder counts and additional service requirements
• Finalise inspection reports and time reporting using required business tools
• Perform inspections and services according to business requirements and processes

Requirements:

• Vocational technical or marine training
• More than 5 years of experience in the marine industry
• Sales experience
• Ability to communicate effectively within a multinational environment
• Ability to manage and motivate service personnel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to co-operate across organisational lines internally and with customers
• Good physical condition
• Professional level Japanese; proficient in English
