サービス技術者/ Services Technician

A global end-of-line solutions company is looking for a Services Technician. The chosen applicant will be in charge of installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial strapping and wrapping machines at customer sites.

Responsibilities:

• Install, commission, and service automatic and semi-automatic machines at customer plants and service handheld devices
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on strapping systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults and carry out repairs onsite or remotely
• Manage spare parts purchase, inventory, and shipping to customers
• Act as the first point of contact for customer technical inquiries during working hours
• Replace and adjust components such as motors, sensors, heaters, belts, and control units
• Conduct machine calibration, testing, and performance checks
• Provide on-site technical support and operator training to customers
• Provide on-site and off-site technical support and service training to trading and system integration partners
• Maintain detailed service reports and maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with Japanese safety standards and workplace regulations
• Coordinate with internal teams for spare parts and technical support
• Travel to company locations for training and to customer locations across Japan or APAC sites of Japanese customers as required
• Prepare and manage own business trips, including booking accommodations, rental cars, and transportation

Requirements:

• Diploma or ITI/Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
• 2-5 years of experience servicing strapping, packaging, or related machines
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong understanding of mechanical drives, electrical wiring, sensors, and PLC basics
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals in Japanese and in English
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Native level English

Preferred Requirements:

• Prior experience working with Japanese customers or companies
• Valid Japanese driver’s licence
• Proficient in English
