Head of Manufacturing

A renowned pharmaceutical company is seeking a Head of Manufacturing for its Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) plant. The selected candidate will lead all manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency across production lines.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily OSD manufacturing processes including granulation, blending, compression, coating, and packaging
• Ensure strict compliance with GMP, GDP, data integrity, and safety standards
• Develop and manage production schedules aligned with demand forecasts and supply chain priorities
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce cycle time, and improve equipment efficiency
• Act as the primary contact during regulatory audits and ensure timely closure of deviations and CAPAs
• Lead, mentor, and develop production teams while fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in pharmacy, pharmaceutical technology, chemical engineering, or a relevant domain
• More than 15 years of experience in OSD manufacturing in pharma
• More than 7 years of leadership experience
• Background in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen methodologies is preferred
• Experience in multinational/CDMO/CMO environments is ideal
• Understanding of GMP, PMDA guidelines, and experience managing regulatory inspections
• Knowledge with digital manufacturing tools (MES, SAP, eBMR) is a plus
• Skilled in production scheduling, planning, and campaign management
• Bilingual level written and verbal Japanese and English
