サステイニングエンジニアリングマネージャー/ Sustaining Engineering Manager

A multinational life sciences company is seeking a Sustaining Engineering Manager. The selected candidate will lead a functional team to drive process improvements, implement change management strategies, and execute projects that expand operating margins within consumables manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute characterisation of manufacturing processes to improve production capabilities
• Solve complex engineering problems and provide technical guidance to junior team members
• Apply expertise in manufacturing processes, machinery, and project management to drive cost-saving initiatives
• Execute engineering solutions focused on operational margin expansion
• Utilise structured problem-solving methodologies and data-driven decision-making
• Lead cross-functional projects and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet organisational goals

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
• More than 8 years of experience in a similar technical or manufacturing role
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing projects with moderate resource and risk levels
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Proficient in structured problem-solving methods such as DMAIC, PSP, or VRK, and in using advanced statistical analysis
• Skilled in establishing structured project management processes and setting clear actions, timelines, and accountability
• Familiarity with Minitab, Jump, or other statistical tools
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% within Asia Pacific region
• Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Proficient in Japanese and English
