アプリケーションエンジニア/ Application Engineer

A global automotive components manufacturer is looking for an Application Engineer. The selected candidate will be overseeing the design and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with customers to coordinate engineering functions, resolve customer issues, and support business development
• Coordinate design of production and prototype components; approve and ensure adequate design requirements are met
• Provide guidance for efficient and reliable manufacturing processes and manage customer acceptance standards
• Oversee and evaluate returned and failed components from customers; review failure reports and submit analyses to customers
• Maintain open dialogue with customer engineering departments, specifically engineers responsible for valve train designs
• Manage customer projects to meet key milestones and deliverables on time
• Serve as an authoritative voice for engineering and design of valves and valvetrain components
• Address engineering design problems by establishing valve and valve train proposals, determining dimensional and tolerance requirements, and collaborating with customers’ engineers
• Resolve complex engineering challenges involving coordination of valve train system designs with tier 2 suppliers to meet durability requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering (master’s degree is preferred)
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering, metal materials, and heat treatment
• Familiarity with metalworking and valve manufacturing processes
• Understanding of materials, metallurgy, and heat treatment of valvetrain components is preferred
• Experience and knowledge of Powder metal and sintered components is preferred
• Environment and functions of internal combustion engine valves are preferred
• Possess a valid professional engineering certification preferred
• Proficient in Japanese; business level English
