Responsibilities:
- Mechanical integration of PCB assemblies in cast/stamped/machined metal or plastic enclosures
- Provide input to development team(s) of mechanical, optical, and thermal aspects of design proposals to achieve successful outcome of system development, utilizing VPDS procedures and milestones
- Create 3D solid models and 2D drawings
- Develop designs and details from general instructions and/or sketches while interpreting and incorporating customer specifications
- Make packaging, production, and stack-up analysis, define controls and checking parameters
- Develop test methods, engineering reports, fixture/prototype designs and test execution support for product development
Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, preferably in fields related to automotive electronics packaging, optics/vision systems and/or thermal considerations preferred
- Background in automotive electronics mechanical packaging and interconnection technology
- Ability to generate detailed model and drawings from sketches, specifications, and/or verbal instructions
- Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and practices
- Proficiency in CAD, preferably CATIA V5+ (and others advantageous), and in GD&T and dimensional annotation
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline
- Business level proficiency in both Japanese and English (TOEIC 700+)
