財務計画・分析マネージャー/ Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

An international biotechnology company is looking for a Manager or Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis. The selected candidate will lead OPEX planning and analysis for R&D and enabling functions while supporting Japan market P&L consolidation and strategic financial decision making. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis for R&D and enabling functions
• Partner with functional leaders to deliver financial insights and support resource allocation
• Monitor spending trends, risks, and opportunities and propose actions to improve performance
• Manage monthly business review preparation and ensure data accuracy and consistency
• Support monthly Japan market P&L consolidation across revenue, COGS, and OPEX
• Prepare management reporting packages and clear financial narratives
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning cycles
• Provide analytical support for headcount planning and organisational initiatives
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives, including reporting optimisation and BI tools
• Coordinate with global FP&A teams to align timelines, templates, and reporting standards
• Support global financial submissions related to R&D and enabling functions
• Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance financial operations in Japan

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience in FP&A, business planning, management accounting, or related fields
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Proficient in financial analysis, data interpretation, and management reporting
• Skilled in MS Office Suite
• Proficient in Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry
• Familiarity with R&D finance or project-based accounting
• Experience with ERP systems, including SAP
• Exposure to global FP&A or matrix organisations
• Experience using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
