Head of Group Finance

A global biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Head of Group Finance. The selected candidate will oversee group financial reporting, consolidation, tax, treasury, and compliance functions, while driving continuous process improvement and supporting strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of qualified accountants and oversee group-wide financial operations
• Advise entity Heads of Finance on IFRS accounting and lead consolidation processes
• Prepare monthly consolidated internal and external IFRS financial statements and reports
• Lead quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting activities
• Coordinate tax calculations and postings, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP
• Maintain transfer pricing documentation and manage tax relationships
• Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity, and FX management
• Ensure financial compliance under J-SOX and support statutory audits
• Drive process and system improvements, including IFRS 18 readiness

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience in accounting at a listed company in Japan, including management of similar operations
• Proven experience in financial reporting, consolidation, tax, treasury, and compliance
• Possess a valid JCCI Bookkeeping Level 1+
• Proficient in Japanese and English
