財務コントローラー/ Finance Controller

A renowned energy company is looking for a Finance Controller. The selected candidate will oversee financial reporting, cash flow, compliance, and internal controls across multiple jurisdictions. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes across all group entities including project SPVs
• Prepare and review financial statements ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Strengthen internal accounting policies, controls, and systems to support scalable growth
• Support external audits
• Report financials to shareholders and internal management
• Handle tax filings and coordinate with tax advisors
• Oversee cash flow, liquidity management, and controls
• Manage internal accounting team and external providers for management and statutory accounts
• Prepare regular internal reporting of financial metrics for board level across operating entities and project SPVs
• Manage relationships with deposit banks
• Implement cashflow projections and financial forecast reporting
• Support board matters including drafting minutes and board/shareholder resolutions
• Oversee shareholder reporting including quarterly board reporting, annual budgets, business plans, and fund flows

Requirements:

• More than 7 years of experience in finance and accounting
• Experience working with multinational teams
• Experience working with institutional investors or financial sponsors
• Experience with Japanese GAAP and IFRS
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and multi-entity structures
• Ability to manage teams across multiple locations
• Native level Japanese; business level English

Preferred Requirements:

• Regional exposure to APAC jurisdictions such as Taiwan, Korea, or Australia
• Possess valid Accounting certifications (CPA, Tax Accountant, ACCA, etc.)
