コントローラー/ Controller

A global eCommerce and consumer goods company is looking for a Controller. The selected candidate will lead end-to-end accounting operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support financial planning activities. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes including statutory reporting
• Review and prepare financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
• Oversee daily accounting operations covering GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, payroll, and expenses
• Ensure compliance with Japanese tax regulations including corporate, consumption, and withholding tax
• Coordinate tax filings and liaise with external accountants and advisors
• Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and support budgeting and cash flow planning

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• More than 7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with ERP or major accounting software
• Business level English; native level Japanese

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in multinational environments or foreign-capital companies in Japan
• Understanding of USGAAP
• Possess valid Japanese CPA, US CPA, or equivalent certification
