A global fashion retail company is seeking an Accountant. The selected candidate will support finance operations, manage accounting processes, and deliver accurate reporting while collaborating with global teams and ensuring compliance. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general accounting with a focus on sales recognition
• Support accounting projects for localisation and implementation in the Japan market
• Coordinate payment strategies with headquarters and business partners
• Support the manager on tax and treasury-related tasks
• Input lease agreement details and manage payment forecasts in databases
• Act as a contact point between internal and external teams for outsourced tasks
• Review sales transaction reports to support operations and administration
• Prepare monthly reports for each store or brand and support audit reporting
• Report issues, solutions, and updates to finance leadership in Japanese and English
• Manage finance systems and support digitalised processes using Office 365
• Collaborate with global counterparts across multiple divisions

Requirements:

• More than 3 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in retail
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles including differences between Japan GAAP and IFRS
• Ability to perform detailed and precise analysis of accounting records and reports
• Excel skills
• Proficiency in finance systems including SAP or similar tools
• Possess a valid BOKI grade 3+ qualification
• Fluent level Japanese; business level English
