GL会計リード/ GL Accounting Lead

An international eye care manufacturer is looking for a GL Accounting Lead. The selected candidate will lead general accounting, financial reporting, taxation, audits, and process improvements while ensuring strong compliance and control standards. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead general ledger accounting and full-cycle financial close, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the corporation in compliance with US GAAP and internal policies
• Maintain balance sheet accuracy through reconciliations and variance analysis
• Lead timely and accurate tax filings in collaboration with external tax advisors and global tax teams
• Support internal and external audits, including tax, SOX, financial, and balance sheet reviews
• Address accounting and SOX inquiries with regional accounting and internal control teams
• Drive local and regional accounting projects to improve processes, efficiency, and system enhancements
• Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, FP&A, internal control, and audit teams to maintain operational excellence

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• 5–7 years of experience in accounting, audit, or tax
• Hands-on experience in US GAAP accounting and SOX audit management
• Proven experience managing accounting and tax operations and supervising small teams
• Skilled in advanced Excel and PowerPoint for high-accuracy reporting
• Proficient in data handling and analytics tools, including MS Excel, COGNOS, and Oracle Essbase
• ERP experience (Oracle)
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
• Fluent level Japanese; proficient in English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in foreign-affiliated companies with inventory-based business models
• Experience developing financial models including balance sheets and cash flow statements
• Possess a valid USCPA or JICPA qualification
