Head of Finance

A multinational medical devices company is looking for a Head of Finance. The selected candidate will drive financial planning, controllership, business partnering, and talent development to support accelerated growth. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead growth strategy development in partnership with senior business leadership
• Provide business partnering through financial analysis, scenario planning, and commercial decision support
• Oversee financial planning and analysis, including OPEX control, profitability analysis, budgeting, and rolling forecasts
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, SOX, and working capital management
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team and future talent pipeline
• Drive finance process improvement and regional project execution
• Manage statutory and management reporting under local GAAP and US GAAP
• Lead monthly close, balance sheet review, and group reporting submissions
• Oversee tax reporting, including VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, and business tax filings

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• More than 15 years of relevant experience
• More than 10 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role
• Prior experience in a fast-paced multinational company environment and working across diverse cultures
• Experience leading sizable teams with strong business partnering capability
• Proficient in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, controllership, taxation, and internal controls

• Possess a valid professional accounting certification
• Proficient in written and verbal Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in Japan with APAC exposure
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Possess a valid MBA qualification
