Head of Finance

A global agricultural life sciences company is seeking a Head of Finance. The selected candidate will oversee financial management, accounting, and compliance for the Japan Crop Protection and Health & Nutrition Science businesses.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely maintenance and reporting of financial information, compliant with local and global accounting standards
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis cycles for the CP/Health & Nutrition Science business
• Drive business performance to meet quarterly and annual targets
• Provide financial advisory for key business initiatives and support decision-making
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, including tax regulations and legal activities
• Oversee internal control processes and manage the internal audit to ensure a compliant business environment
• Partner with Japan management on ad-hoc projects and capital investment evaluations
• Manage and train finance analysts

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• More than 5 years of experience in finance management and finance business partnering
• Experience working in a matrix organisation and negotiating across different levels of the organisation
• Strong knowledge of General Accounting, Managerial and cost accounting, Japan GAAP, and IFRS
• Skilled in IT systems including SAP or ECC (HFM and Excel retrieval experience a plus)
• Proven leadership and people management skills
• Possess a valid MBA qualification is ideal
• Native level Japanese; business level English
