営業アシスタント/ Sales Assistant
An international business services company in the shipping industry is looking for a Sales Assistant. The selected applicant will be responsible for acting as a key point of contact for operational, administrative, and logistical matters. This is a hybrid setup role.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries in Japanese, including bookings, sales orders, availability, technical details, outstanding bookings, and invoicing queries, with some queries requiring support from operations, account managers, or technical teams
- Input contract details into COTW
- Prepare and submit 用途外申請 (youtogai shinsei) documentation to Japanese Customs upon customer request
- Arrange 管理者変更 (kanrisha henkou) documentation for Japanese Customs
- Provide customer support for leasing and TCS customers in Japanese, including pick-up and redelivery depot details and available pick-up timing
- Monitor open bookings and follow up with customers
- Support additional projects and tasks as required
- Maintain strong working relationships and daily communication with key depot personnel
- Handle daily inquiries from Japanese depots in Japanese
- Arrange local trucking (drayage) with trucking companies
- Arrange empty repositioning and related shipping documents
- Manage redelivery arrangements, including DD documentation in Japanese
- Issue manual invoices for Japanese consumption tax related to repair costs
- Issue manual invoices for depots, trucking companies, and survey companies
- Assist with accounting and office administrative duties as necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in logistics, shipping or container leasing industry is preferred
- General knowledge of the container or shipping industry
- Strong administrative skills
- Ability to build and maintain good customer and vendor relations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Must be authorised to work for ANY employer in Japan. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
- Proficient in Japanese and English
Preferred Requirements:
- Proficient in MS Office and Excel
