IPスペシャリスト/ IP Specialist

A renowned automotive technology company is looking for an IP Specialist. The selected candidate will develop and execute IP strategies aligned with R&D and business goals while strengthening the patent portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute IP strategies aligned with R&D and business objectives
• Conduct patent searches, analyses, and third-party clearance activities
• Secure patents for computer, software, and AI-related inventions

Requirements:

• More than 3 years of experience in refining software-related inventions and drafting patent application claims through discussions with inventors and patent attorneys
• Experience in planning and executing a patent strategy for a specific R&D field
• Prior experience responding to JP and US Office Actions, with strong understanding of claim construction impacts including prosecution estoppel, Phillips standard, and Broadest Reasonable Interpretation (BRI)
• Understanding of patent prosecution practices in JP and US, especially on computer-related / software-implemented inventions. e.g. Manual of Patent Examining Procedure and important cases (court decisions) such as Alice
• Familiarity with the importance of technical contracts, e.g. NDA, Joint Development Agreement etc. for patent activities in collaboration with other companies
• Knowledge of FOSS
• Possess valid patent attorney qualification
• Native level Japanese; business level English (TOEIC860+)
