法務顧問/ Legal Counsel

An international life sciences and medical devices company is looking for a Legal Counsel. The selected candidate will provide legal advice, draft and review contracts, manage compliance, and support business operations in a legally compliant manner. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and provide training on legal subjects to entire teams
• Draft and update company policies and procedural documents as necessary
• Draft and review contracts and provide periodic updates
• Act as primary contact for external organisations and industry associations in Japan
• Serve on local committees such as the compliance committee
• Drive legal operations to ensure business compliance
• Handle projects and matters as assigned by managers
• Control signature and company seal for all legal documents
• Manage outside counsel and oversee legal and compliance budgets

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• More than 5 years of experience in the legal business in private companies or law offices
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% per year
• Proficient in Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in the medical device or life sciences industry
• Possess a valid qualification to practice law in Japan or a Western jurisdiction
