法務アソシエイト/ Legal Associate

A foreign private investment firm is searching for a Legal Associate. The selected candidate will be in charge of providing legal support across deal documentation, due diligence, execution, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate early-stage deal documentation
• Scope, coordinate, and oversee legal due diligence processes with external counsel
• Support and manage execution of complex deal completions
• Liaise and collaborate effectively with internal teams (legal, tax, finance) and outside counsel or advisors
• Partner with deal teams and PG teams in Japan to build strong, trusted relationships
• Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to support commercial decision-making
• Ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements in Japan and internationally

Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer (Bengoshi is strongly preferred)
• 3-5 years of experience at a leading Tokyo law firm
• PE/M&A transactional experience is ideal
• Solid drafting and negotiation skills, particularly in bilingual contexts
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style
• Native level written and verbal Japanese; proficient in English
