シニア法務顧問/ Senior Legal Counsel

A global industrial and medical gas company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel. The selected candidate will oversee contracts, provide legal advice, manage disputes, and uphold ethics and governance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts with customers, agents, and suppliers
• Provide legal advice on tender processes and assess related legal risks
• Manage the contracts database, internal policies, and notarial services
• Deliver legal opinions and guidance to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations
• Support internal stakeholders with comprehensive legal advisory
• Handle and monitor legal cases and represent the company in judicial and administrative hearings
• Oversee contractual disputes and manage external legal counsel
• Act as the entity’s Ethics Officer and promote high compliance standards
• Coordinate communication between the company and regulatory authorities
• Ensure corporate compliance and governance, manage board meetings, and draft or review resolutions
• Develop and conduct legal and compliance training for employees
• Define and manage the Internal Rules and Regulations Program and execute yearly Legal Site Audit plans

Requirements:

• More than 10 years of working experience in a corporate legal department or reputable law firm
• Demonstrated experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex commercial contracts and handling Japanese civil and commercial law
• Legal knowledge of Japanese law and the legal system
• Professional level Japanese; business level English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience working in a Multinational Corporation (MNC) environment
• Possess a valid legal qualification in other major jurisdictions
• Possess a valid Japanese Bar qualification
