A global legal services company is looking for a Senior Technical Specialist. The selected candidate will provide expert technical support in patent assessment, prosecution, and client advisory.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse scientific and technical documents to assess novelty and inventiveness of inventions
• Advise clients on patentability and provide high-quality technical guidance
• Contribute to practice group efforts and support client representation
• Draft and prosecute patent applications, and research intellectual property rights
• Manage e-filing, amendments, and appeals with the USPTO
• Prepare client correspondence and support practice development activities

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or equivalent
• More than 7 years of professional experience
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Skilled in WorkSite, Adobe Acrobat, Legal MacPac
• Knowledge of Chemdraw, CPI
• Prior knowledge in Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, scientific and USPTO databases, Patent Fetch and other patent document search engines
• Familiarity with CarpeDiem
• Background in Outlook, Office Communicator
• Qualification to sit for the Patent Bar per USPTO requirements
• Professional level Japanese and English
