コーポレートカウンセル/ Corporate Counsel

A multinational eCommerce business is searching for a Corporate Counsel. The selected candidate will be in charge of acting as the primary lawyer and providing legal advice for the business. This position is based in Tokyo.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters
• Handle negotiations, structuring, and drafting of complex commercial transactions
• Interact with regulators to have an impact on proposed legislation and rulemaking
• Provide guidance on necessary compliance
• Support development and execution of risk-tested and scalable compliance

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor or equivalent
• More than 5 years of legal experience in a major or global firm
• Practical experience in project management is a plus
• Background in crisis management and response is ideal
• Possess a valid licence to practice law in Japan, US, or other common law jurisdiction
• Native level Japanese; fluent level English
