コーポレートカウンセル/ Corporate Counsel

A global consumer goods manufacturer is looking to hire a Corporate Counsel. The chosen candidate will provide legal services and support for the company across Japan and the APAC region.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct business research regarding law and compliance issues
• Propose and consult with various functions to implement corrective actions
• Prepare and review documentation of contracts and relevant materials in Japanese and English
• Oversee business matters related to laws including Civil Code, Consumer Contract Act, Act on Specified Commercial Transactions, Competition law, IP law, Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, etc.
• Provide training for internal staff
• Perform analysis on business impact of newly established laws
• Work closely with the global legal team

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in law and patent attorney
• 5+ years of professional experience in a legal department of a company or law firm
• Deep understanding of laws and regulations
• Japanese bar admission is a strong plus
• Ability to gain knowledge of relevant laws including civil law, consumer law, competition law, medical drug and medical equipment law, labour law, IP law, etc.
• Excellent collaboration, organisational and follow-through skills
• Fluent level Japanese and business level English (TOEIC 800+)
