A renowned securities firm is seeking a Japan Country Compliance professional. The selected candidate will oversee regulatory engagement, compliance governance, and advisory activities while ensuring alignment with local regulations and global standards. This is a hybrid, long-term haken role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage relationships with regulators and act as PMO lead during regulatory inspections
• Oversee regulatory filings, notifications, and entity licensing for securities and banking entities
• Lead regulatory change management and coordinate stakeholder action tracking
• Provide advisory guidance on privacy law, outsourcing governance, firewall rules, and client data handling
• Coordinate compliance reporting to executive committees and maintain internal rules and governance processes
• Ensure activities comply with regulatory requirements, risk frameworks, and internal policies

Requirements:

• Experience in financial industry as Compliance officer
• Knowledge of local regulation
• Native level Japanese; business level English

Nice to have:

• Experience in team/people management
• Background in legal study
• Excellent project management skills
