法務・コンプライアンスマネージャー/ Legal & Compliance Manager

A global technology solutions company is looking for a Legal & Compliance Manager. The selected applicant will ensure the company operates in compliance with internal guidelines as well as relevant laws and regulations. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Drafts, reviews, and negotiates commercial agreements with clients, suppliers, and other parties
• Advises the leadership team on legal matters and collaborates with internal stakeholders to assess risks and apply mitigation measures
• Ensures operations, products, and services comply with local laws and regulations including payment, tax, AML, anti-fraud, anti-corruption, data protection, and labor laws
• Implements and monitors compliance with company policies and procedures related to legal and compliance topics
• Assists with corporate affairs and ensures compliance with corporate laws and regulations
• Acts as the data protection correspondent for Japan and coordinates with the regional DPC to roll out Group data protection programs
• Supports Sales, Operations, and IT teams in responding to customer inquiries on personal information protection, information security, and data protection
• Oversees management of data-related incidents and negotiates data clauses in contracts with customers and suppliers
• Monitors changes in local data protection regulations and coordinates communication with local authorities

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Law and have relevant certification(s) in data protection
• More than 10 years of experience in the field of legal and compliance (MNC is preferred)
• Experience in the fields of contract law, corporate affairs, and data protection
• Experience in providing advice and guidance to senior management on legal, compliance and data protection issues
• Experience in negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution
• In-depth knowledge of local regulations and guidelines relating to data protection and of GDPR
• Understanding of data protection challenges in the technology sector
• Proficiency with compliance tools or software (One Trust, etc.)
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in written and verbal Japanese and English
