事業開発マネージャー/ Business Development Manager
A global maritime and shipping group is looking for a Business Development Manager. The selected candidate will lead client relationship management, drive new business growth, and support commercial and strategic initiatives across operations. This is a remote role.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end account management and drive new business development to maximize revenue and utilisation
- Build and strengthen senior client relationships by providing tailored, high-quality commercial solutions
- Develop a strong network across customers, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders to expand the client base
- Support regional projects and proposals through research, investment analysis, M&A review, and valuation work
- Monitor market conditions, chartering rates, and industry trends and provide actionable insights
- Oversee charter party obligations, manage operational and commercial risks, and support claims and internal coordination
Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or above in relevant field from a recognised institution
- More than 3 years of experience in similar role with focus on business development/sales activities
- Background in corporate development (ship chartering business is ideal)
- Knowledge of full account management activities across the spectrum of customer relationship management and total care
- Familiarity with time charter parties and commercial operations, containership industry
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Fluent level reading, written, and spoken English (Japanese is ideal)
Preferred requirements:
- Experience in containership sector
- Proven experience in the Japanese shipping market or with Japanese clients
- Proven sales training
