R&Dマネージャー / R&D Manager - Skincare

A multinational luxury cosmetic brand is looking for an R&D Manager. The chosen applicant will be responsible for leading innovative skincare product development for the Asian market with global scalability, providing scientific and technical leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver assigned projects with strong leadership
• Lead and deliver innovative product development by managing and guiding 5–6 formulators primarily for Asia, with potential global application
• Present innovation progress with technical rationale and data as reasons to believe to R&D management and secure agreement on clear next steps
• Propose and pursue new technology exploration and create new formula chassis with unique, superior texture and or enhanced skincare efficacy
• Collaborate with the Valorisation coordinator to create technical models and communicate technical benefits to R&D management, then translate data into consumer-understandable messages for central and local Marketing
• Analyse competitive activities with the Valorisation coordinator and identify opportunities to compete technically and commercially
• Provide required data and prototypes at project decision meetings and manage development schedules with full communication with AIC central R&D, Marketing, and Product Supply
• Participate in press presentations for technology when products are designed for Asian needs and requested by central or local PR
• Support market technical and scientific surveys in the skincare field
• Collaborate with the Open Innovation team to explore and identify novel technologies from suppliers and vendors for potential partnerships
• Provide technical support for global projects led by central R&D to ensure critical Asian needs are addressed
• Monitor new technologies and innovations in Asia with the Open Innovation team and provide assessment feedback to management, central R&D, MCI, and Marketing
• Ensure timely feedback on quality issues from formulation work to improve reactivity, continuous improvement, and package compatibility

Requirements:

• Advanced scientific degree in chemistry, formulation, or a related field
• More than 10 years of experience in the cosmetic industry
• Strong expertise in skincare formulation
• Fluent level English
